Home Organization Tips:
- Jars: Use empty glass or plastic jars to store small items like buttons, screws, craft supplies, or pantry staples. Label each jar for easy identification and stack them to save space.
- Toilet Paper Rolls: Save empty rolls to organize cords, pens, or small craft items. Bundle cords inside the rolls to prevent tangling, or use them as dividers in drawers.
- Baskets: Place baskets on shelves, in closets, or under tables to group similar items together. Use them for toys, laundry, or pantry goods. Label baskets for quick access.
- Boxes: Reuse sturdy boxes for storing seasonal decorations, shoes, or paperwork. Stack boxes neatly and label them on the outside for easy retrieval.
- Drawer & Shelf Dividers: Install dividers to separate utensils, office supplies, or clothing. This keeps items sorted and prevents clutter from building up in drawers and on shelves.
- Plastic Bins: Use clear plastic bins to store items you want to see at a glance, such as craft materials, cleaning supplies, or pantry goods. Stackable bins maximize vertical space.
- Underbed Bins: Slide shallow bins under beds to store out-of-season clothing, shoes, or extra linens. This makes use of otherwise wasted space.
- Bags (Ziploc & Cloth): Store small items, snacks, or travel toiletries in Ziploc bags. Use cloth bags for groceries, shoes, or organizing items within larger totes.
- Baby Wipe Containers: Repurpose empty containers to hold crayons, small toys, sewing supplies, or first aid items. Their snap lids keep contents secure.
- File Folders: Sort paperwork, receipts, or manuals into labeled file folders. Store them in a filing cabinet or portable file box for easy access and organization.
You will likely have many of these items in your home already, but those you don’t have & need can be found at dollar stores or local stores. Stores often dispose of their boxes and make them available to the public.
