Silverware Cleaning with Baking Soda & Foil
Materials Needed:
- Glass baking dish or pot
- Tin foil
- Baking soda (½ cup for small pan; up to 1 cup for large pot)
- Boiling water
- Tongs or gloves
Instructions:
- Line your dish or pot with aluminum foil.
- Pour in boiling water.
- Add baking soda.
- Place silver items in the mixture — ensure they touch the foil.
- Leave for 1–5 minutes, or until tarnish clears.
- Remove with tongs or gloves.
- Buff with microfibre cloth to remove any water spots
Tip: You can also use a wadded ball of foil instead of lining the pot.
